UIDAI to use behavioural insights to enhance adoption of Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) among children

1. UIDAI partners with Behavioural Insights Ltd to enhance MBU adoption among children.
2. Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) in Aadhaar is free for children aged 7-15 until October 1, 2026.
3. The MoU aims to increase MBU in Aadhaar for 5-year and 15-year-olds.
4. UIDAI waived off all charges for MBU for the 7-15 age group effective 1 October 2025.
5. Behavioural interventions will be designed and implemented to promote MBU.
